Adriane

 

Adriane is an award-winning belly dancer originally from Los Angeles who has studied belly dance since she was fourteen years old. Adriane is now one of Sacramento's most sought after performers and instructors and a frequent guest lecturer for the UC Davis ethnomusicology department.
In 2009, Adriane was selected to be one of twenty international professional performers to participate in an intensive training with Jillina. She also completed Sahra Saeeda's Journey through Egypt Level 1 on Egyptian dance. She pulls from a strong foundation in yoga, in addition to training in jazz, ballet, hip hop, West African, and samba dance.
Adriane's awards include 1st Place Live Music Soloist at the 2006 North Valley Belly Dance Competition, Finalist at the 2004 Belly Dance Star Search Competition sponsored by the Belly Dance Superstars, and 1st Place in the Junior Category at the Belly Dancer of the Universe Competition, and 3rd Place in the 2009 Jewel of the Sierra Competition. Her essay "Balloon Hats and Fezs" won 3rd place in IAMED's belly dance essay contest in 2009.

Adriane has a BA in Environmental Studies with a Spanish Minor from Oberlin College and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSU-Sacramento. She teaches the primary grades at a Waldorf charter school.
